Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Nise getting beat up!!!
February 19, 2011
Saturday night, I was laying in bed and soon the pitter patter of feet come walking in the door. “Ashley (so cute in a tired voice!), I wanna snuggle!” Ok Nise, come on in! Well for an hour or so Nise and I had a wonderful conversation solving all the worlds problems. At night, this baby likes to move a lot. So I was telling Nise about the baby. She then laid her head on my tummy, and felt the baby moving. She thought this was the neatest thing ever. She is already getting kicked, punched…basically beat up by her young brother or sister. This baby will soon realize he or she has two older sisters, and will have to proceed with caution, because the way these two team up, this kid is a goner!!! Nise thought feeling the baby move and seeing the actual tummy move was a very neat experience. It was a cool experience to have with her and to see her in awe and amazement with what is inside the belly.
Nise then feel asleep on the belly, and woke Abby up the next morning saying Nise got to feel the bay, and Abby did not! UT OH….we all learned what happens next from fighting class 101!!! It began a bit of a fight. Of course the baby wasn’t moving at that time so we had to improvise….just contract the abs, and say it’s the baby moving….instant gratification for the girls! All is well, and another fight is diverted!
Both girls now tell everyone how their baby brother or baby sister is beating tem up already! What a funny story to hear over and over again. Baby Dez better watch it, because he will be out one day and have to face them!

kicking all night long!
February 18th 2011
After coming home, Rob and I were chatting awake for 2 hours or more. I guess a lot has happened in the past day or so.
Anyways, finally relaxing watching some tv, knowing it was getting close to bedtime, the baby decided it was time to rock and roll. This kid has decided to be very active in the early AM and at nighttime. Seriously this movement when its bedtime, and before I have to get up is getting annoying!!! Lets get on a sleep pattern baby Dez!!!
Besides that, sine it was time to move around, Rob got to feel the baby move around a lot. He got to feel the heartbeat and lots of kicks with his hand! I thought it was a neat experience fort him to feel and he certainly got a kick out of being kicked!!!

Zoo Babies
February 18, 2011
Today was a super exciting day…..going to the DC zoo with Mrs. Mendez, Robs’ mom, Natalie,, Rob’s sister, Abby, Nise, And rob’s nieces and nephews, Lauren, Peter, John, and Sophia. It was such a gorgeous day! 75 and sunny!!!! We first got there to see the baby lions. I have decided I no longer want a dog, I would like to just have a baby lion, and keep it super cute and small before it gets big! But I was told no….baboon Rob you are not a lot of fun!!!
After the lions, we made our way around the zoo laughing and playing, enjoying the weather. We saw numerous animals, giant anteater, pandas, elephants, numerous birds, apes, and even the new baby ape! To cute!!! All the young kids got a huge kick out of these animals and mimicking them around the zoo.
It was a nice day to eat outside for a picnic enjoying each others company. This gave the kids a lot of time to run around and play. Burning off some energy! You could tell this on the way home when Abby and Nise feel asleep and didn’t wake up at all!!! They were totally worn out!!
They need to recharge because tomorrow is Disney Princess on Ice FRONT ROW!!!!!!

reconizing voices...maybe???
There are times when Rob walks in saying hello and the baby begins to move a lot. I think Baby Dez is beginning to recognize Daddy’s voice J I hope this is true, and me not making this up in my head. But this seems to have happened more than once. What a cool feeling at any point to feel the baby move, but a special feeling for the baby to move when hearing Daddy’s voice.
Nice compliment….I mean…
So at some point over this past weekend Rob turned to me and said WOW!!! Did you get bigger from last night…..You are getting bigger everyday! Well….gggeeezzzz….Rob THANKS! I feel huge! This is during the time Abby was playing with the camera and they are some very unflattering pictures, but had to post my girls photography skills!!

New York weekend!!
Feb 11 - 13th 2011
So if you knew Rob and I, we seem to always push the limits. We tend to plan things a bit last minute, which is very different for me, since I can be a bit more of a planner. However, I have to give a lot of credit where credit is due….it always works out for us. There have been numerous times we have done a lot last minute and it work out, not nicely, not great, BUT FANTASTIC!
We always talk about how great it works out for us! Well, we tried again this weekend. Once again, it worked out beyond wonders. We had one fail, but turned out to be the best thing ever!! So Rob, Thanks for a wonderful last minute weekend that could not have been more perfect! All 4 of us thank you very much J
Getting there was a lot of fun…I stayed awake the whole time! The girls fell asleep early, which was good for the long car ride J Rob and I made great time! WE got stuck in one accident at the Lincoln Tunnel, which somehow turned out to be my fault, but we popped in a movie, laid the seats back and watched a movie for 30 minutes.
Saturday we played all day long walking the streets, and eventually coming back for a nap. The girls woke up so early w excitement. After a fun day of walking around, going to top of the Rock to see the city from a different view, we ate at Roxy’s. The sandwiches were probably 10 inches high…HUGE!!! But oh my goodness ssssooooo good!!! After our nap, we woke up for our first ever Broadway play, Mary Poppins! It was a lot of fun, the girls got a kick out of it. BUT!! The best part…our seats were DIRECLTY…and I mean DIRECTLY in fron ton Mary Poppins when she floew away at the end of the play. The girls though this was the coolest thing EVER! They got to wake to each other…so of course Mary Poppins did this just for them!
Another note, Baby Dez seemed to like the singing of Mary Poppins. Baby Dez was certainly getting his grove on in the belly!
There were some major highlights of Saturday….Toys R Us, the LARGE Disney store, Rob getting into a nice argument with the taxi driver, seeing all the lights having our pictures taken with Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, Elmo, and Cookie Monster.
Sunday came way to fast. We were up and at ‘em early for n off Broadway show, a Gazillion Bubbles. Although they were a bit tired, they got a huge kick out of this...I think we all did. The show was amazing! IT really was a gazillion bubbles. There was also a cool laser show along with it. We also got to have our pictures taken within a Bubble. The four of us took a picture together, and it was a small space to stand on, which was tuff considering this belly of mine seems to be getting bigger and bigger!!!
We spent some time Sunday finishing walking around and seeing the sights. We accomplished a lot of sightseeing in a small amount of time. Though it was a busy weekend, we had an absolute blast seeing everything again. The girls can not stop talking about it again! They are extremely anxious to go again J

5 Months Preggo…4 to go J
Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.
~www.baby center.com
So what can we learn from this…Well I read between the lines and found out that when I tell Rob to “drive into the snow” and he yells at me for it, because it was my fault, the baby can hear you and doesn’t like it J So darling, please don’t yell at me over driving into the snow, or setting off the smoke detector, or beating you in blowing, because Baby Dez can hear you and doesn’t like you getting mad at his momma! HEHEHE
So I also took from this that I will never be in trouble again for the next 4 months! I hope I can be pregnant forever!!!!
All kidding and sarcasm aside, I am super excited about the developments, and Rob is very happy to see an expanding belly = a healthy baby, which is a "very attractive thing you can do for me" aaaawwwww honey!!!! You really are a keeper :)

I think this will be a super fun update....I will get a belly pic up here tomorrow if I can get myself out of bed to take one....and I'll show everyone a comparision of who has the largest tummy in this household. As much as I joke on Rob shooting me about our fun updates, this one might do me in :) But he acts to funny and silly and you cant help but laugh at him, and he makes it so easy....i swear hunny...you might be a blonde!
Anyways Rob, Im sure you will like it also :) I promise, no one at work will see it :):)
Smooches hun!!!

Party in the U.S.A. ....No judging!!!
February 8th 2011
So I still feel blah! I finally got to sleep late, and woke up wwaaayyyyy to early! What am I doing up at 4:30 am! There is no reason for a person to be this early for no reason. Anyways, I find a comfy spot, getting ready to doze off at 5:#0ish or so, and guess who wakes up! Baby Dez. So even if I wanted to go to sleep, Baby Dez won’t let me. Ok, baby darling, I don’t feel well and just want a bit more sleep…is that ok?? Please! Well, this child moved for HOURS! It was like Miley Cyrus was singing to my belly…you know the song….”PARTY IN THE U.SA.!!!”
Well, I got so tickled just thinking about this….because this song has a nice meaning for Rob and I. Now for the disclaimer…if Rob wasn’t going to shoot me over the post where he got he car stuck, loosing to me in bowling, or setting the smoke detector off, he might just shoot me over this, but away we go ….
Rob and I drove to get his brand new painted dump truck, he was so ecstatic…it was his new baby! He is so happy to be driving, and totally showing off his pimped out driving skills… We are stuck in beltway traffic… and what song comes on….Miley Cyrus, Party in the U.S.A. Well, he didn’t offer to change the channel, and neither of us wanted to be the first to belt it out, but the chorus came on, and it was GAME ON! We are stuck in traffic dancing and singing our hearts out. I am sure we were the topic of conversation for some other passengers. Either way in that moment, it didn’t matter who was looking it was not going to stop us from acting crazy and singing to Party in the U.S.A.
Well as Baby Dez is rockin’ and rollin’ this morning, that was all I could think about. Baby Dez did not want to settle down for a few hours. I just cant express the feeling of how cool it is to have this baby move inside of me. It makes me smile to feel him move so much, even though I wasn’t feeling well and looked like Bozo J

So I was right, being around 3 sick people, you will most likely get sick. I think I can make it official, I am sick! Runny nose, tummy hurts, achy, ears hurt, etc…but the best part…from blowing my nose so much…wanna see what I look like…here comes a cute pic!!!
So for now, all I want to do is sleep, but I cant seem to fall asleep and get comfy. So off to do another load of laundry J Then maybe bed time.
P.S. Rob, this is a great time, no matter how sick I look to use the phrase "yes Dear, you look gorgeous"
Thank you hunny, you are so sweet!!!!

Ok, so this post may or may not get me in trouble, so I am hoping Rob just casually misses this post J Smooches dear!
Rob decided to make dinner for us, with out telling me. Mr. Mom cooked mozzarella sticks, Perdue chicken that goes on the salad in the micro, refried beans, in the micro, and meatballs in the micro. Needless to say he is a GREAT microwave cook. Anyways, the best part is he dump the mozzarella sticks on the pan because the bag was near empty, but with the empty bag came the little bread crumbs. Well once in the oven, the empty bread crumbs burned and set the smoke detector off…not once, not twice, not three time…but yes you guess it….
Other than setting the detector off 5 times, everything turned out well. I think baby Dez liked his cooking, he didn’t toss and turn a lot, and I was ok, so I am hoping he liked his Daddy’s cooking. I just hope Rob doesn’t have to cook a lot, that he does realize Pizza Boli’s delivers within 30 minutes and it is good pizza J
Thank you Rob for all you do for us, me, Abby, Nise, and baby Dez, but please do me a favor and order pizza babe J
Dear Abby and Nise,
I know you are young and you may not understand all of this, but you know certain numbers. Therefore, when Daddy cooks, make sure to have 9-1-1 on standby....they might be able to help with the cooking :)
Their truck will also save our house :)

Feb 3 2011
Auntie Dana comes to town!!
I am stoked to hear Dana is flying out of BWI for a photo shoot and she has time to meet up for dinner. We had such a FAB time. She save a place in Baltimore advertised on diners drive-ins and dives called Blue Moon CafĂ©. It was more than fabulous, I just wish I came with more of an appetite. A large cinnamon roll was ordered….mmmmm heaven! Pancakes, Captain crunch French toast, salsa omelet….ggggrrreeeaaaatttt food J Most importantly, it was nice to spend time with her, catch up, and allow her the opportunity to rub the belly!!!
Well Ms. Dana, while Baby Dez and I are at home in MD, freezing with another threat of a light snow shower, enjoy your time in HOT SUNNY Aruba where there are no threats other than what fruity frozen cocktail do you want. Enjoy girlie, cant wait for you to come back home J

What a wonderful weekend! Rob comes home to find out he does not have to work on Saturday….so off to Deep Creek Maryland we went to! It was a nice restful weekend full of a lot of fun filled stories that are not “will not end up on face book Ashley, I’m Serious!!!” according to Rob! Well Baby Dez got to learn, again, his Daddy his crazy…which goes along with the nickname “Crazy Cat”.
Can we just talk about pulling into the driveway….please for one second!! Let me set this up for you all…There is approx a foot of snow on the ground and Rob fully believes his car can make it through the snow…well lets fast forward to 4 feet forward….the car is stuck! Rob then turns to me mad at me because I told him to drive into the snow instead of staying in the cleared driveway. MMMM…yup my dear, you are right, my testosterone got in the way of thinking. So Rob, I am sorry I forced you to drive into the snow so I didn’t have to walk as far.
Well once we got into the warm house it was nice to settle down and hang out. Throughout the weekend, everyone had their chance to get sick, except me!! WWWOOOHHHOOOO. I hope I just am not going to get it next. First is was Nise, then Rob, the rounding it out with Abby. And poor Rob, so sick, had to shovel out the car so I could get some food for the girls and him. Poor baby, I’m sorry you had to get off the couch so sick when I am the one who foolishly told you to put the car in the snow! Shame on me….
Sunday everyone was feeling better and we went outside to play in the snow for a bit. As Rob and I were throwing ice sickles from teh top of the house...
....he thought it was a great idea to tackle me, football style into the snow.
(get him Mrs. Mendez!!!!!!)
I not sure baby Dez liked it or not, because he was rocking and rolling after. I was a bit shocked because my throw was on point…but with no snow pants on, I was a bit cold. So then I was cranky J
Overall what a great weekend. Nice to come home though. It was so nice to travel without feeling like I am going to throw up all the time and worried when the nausea would hit during the car ride. This second trimester thing is such a breeze! No nausea. J I hope the rest of the pregnancy lasts like this…this, I can handle!!!

Once I went out to get some dinner, I did have time to make it to the store to get my Klondike bar that I had been craving…and yes Ms. Brenda! They were on sale J J It tasted so good, I would have paid full price for it J
Going on an adventure!
Anny and Denise
Someone got their workout on....two special girls got pulled around on the tube in the snow! Lots of laughing and giggling here! And someone, who shal rename nameless, was huffing a bit :)

Less overwhelmed....thank goodness!
A bit less overwhelmed!!
So I feel that now I have picked out a stroller, swing, infant carrier, a jumper toy thingy, and pack and play (play Yard) I feel a little less overwhelmed. My kid now has a place to sleep, ride around in the car, ride around the mall with me in style J , a super cute swing, and a toy thingy, I feel great! Today I got a lot done. I told Rob I didn’t have the time to drive to Howard County to drop off an invoice (so he would be paid a few 2 - 3 days fasterJ ). This was because I took the time to hit the store…don’t worry dear…I didn’t buy anything! I just went looking….and I think your CC just said a great big OUCH! But don’t worry darling…I picked out good safety equipment that is easy to put together and picked out a lot of major items Baby Dez needs.
First….the swing!
Fisher Price the Lamb Swing. Great product!! People online and in the store could not say more good things about it. Also, the return rate of this product is VERY low from the 2 stores I went to J
Second…Pack and Play
Chicco Pack and Play! Again, great reviews, and easy to move. Best part, it has wheels for easy maneuvering. So this is something you don’t have to lung, I can wheel it. (this is a bit of a problem for Rob and I, I over pack, he under packs, and we argue about me packing and how much he has to carry in and out of place….BUT!!! I am always prepared J So Rob, sweetie! You are welcome for me packing everything AND the kitchen sink). This I think will be a much better compromise than putting my child on a blanket on the ground….Now ROB, where is the H**L did I get that idea from….hhhhmmmmmm….cant think of it, can you please help to refresh my memory???? This will be so wonderful for all the traveling we do and how much time we spend outside.
Third…Infant carrier.
Chicco Cortina Keyfit 30 infant seat. Yes! It fit’s the Jeep stroller J This is one of the most light weight carriers with out the baby, so with my heavy child, it will be much easier. Also it is a nice snap in, instead of some of the snap ins that have to be right on. This one helps to guide you into the snap in. Which is a nice feature. It also has a leveler to make sure Baby Dez is laying at the right angle on the seat. It also it one of a few carriers that has a bit of a higher weight and length limit.
Fourth…the jumpy thingy / toy thingy J
1) Baby Einstein floor mat 2) Baby Einstein Motion Musical Jumper 3) Fisher Price exersaucer. Baby Einstein is great I think. They have great customer service and I think they put out great products, so that is a large reason why I chose this. Also it looks super fun and may keep my child interested. I know it will be a bit before baby Dez will be in it, but again,, it is SUPER cool J

2/2/11
So today I decided to share that I have been oing a blog with Rob. It went so much better than planned. I thought some of the stuff he would not have been a fan of…but his words were…”how cool my baby has a website and blog!” Well I am glad you are happy dear! When you are happy I am happy and it’s a happy day! So ladies, the three or four that read this, I have to be totally G rated when it comes to aaalllll the sweet things I saw about my baby daddy Robbie, so phone calls are still a must! If you know what I am saying.
So there was one problem he had with this blog….and I know sometimes my memory isn’t that great…but I think I am in the right here darling! The bowling trophy and him loosing. He said he does not remember at all loosing, that I got my butt handed to me over several games of bowling, and basically he deserves that trophy and wants me to print a retraction.
So here is your retraction darling!
Robs Trophy, because he is a winner to me, not matter how bad I beat you in bowling. You are number one in my heart….but nnnnoooootttttttt in bowling baby doll J J J

Cravings…
2/2/11
So today I think I had my second BIG craving. I remember there was one day I was waiting for rob to get out of some store on / near 7 locks (haha rob…you would be the ONLY one who got that one! Don’t worry that’s our secretJ ) and had a craving for WHITE cheese dip. I think this came from an earlier conversation about cheese dip from a Mexican restaurant that I had with Dana earlier. So Damit DANA! This is alll your fault! But it totally takes me back to any of our RIC trips at La Casa something…with great cheese dip!
Anyways today….I want this….
I will take any of these…but nothing’ like an oldie but goodie!
